Dr. Kapil Akula is a dedicated and skilled Pediatric Intensivist with comprehensive training and expertise in managing a broad spectrum of critically ill children. He completed his MBBS and MD in Pediatrics from Maharashtra, followed by a prestigious superspeciality Doctorate of National Board (DrNB) in Pediatric Critical Care from Dr. Mehta’s Multispeciality Hospital, Chennai. Trained in a state-of-the-art Level III PICU, Dr. Kapil has gained extensive hands-on experience in advanced life support, complex sepsis management, mechanical ventilation strategies, and extracorporeal therapies including Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT). His clinical proficiency covers care of children from various high-risk subspecialties such as cardiothoracic surgery, neurosurgery, trauma, hemato-oncology, and transplant medicine. As part of his specialized training, Dr. Kapil completed focused rotations in Pediatric Cardiothoracic ICU at Narayana Hrudayalaya, Bangalore, and Pediatric Liver Transplant ICU at Rela Institute, Chennai, where he honed his skills in managing complex post-operative and ECMO-supported cases. Dr. Kapil is adept at performing critical procedures independently, including advanced airway management, invasive vascular access, hemodynamic monitoring, and Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS)-guided interventions. His leadership extends beyond bedside care to protocol development, nursing education, and safe pediatric critical care transport services.
