Dr. Jafar Khan is an experienced Neonatologist with over 20 years of experience in pediatrics and more than 13 years of specialization in neonatology.
He holds an MBBS, from MGM Medical College, Devi Ahilya University Indore, an MD in Pediatrics from MGM Medical College and MYH group of Hospitals, Indore, and a DNB in Neonatology from Fernandez Hospital for Womens and Newborns, Hyderguda, Hyderabad. He was awarded the prestigious Dr. S. Jayam Gold Medal in Neonatology for academic excellence in the DNB Neonatology examination.
Dr. Khan has extensive experience in the management of critically ill, extremely premature newborns, neonatal intensive care, neonatal ventilation, neonatal respiratory distress syndrome, neonatal sepsis, hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE), jaundice and other complex neonatal conditions. He is very experienced in advanced neonatal procedures such as endotracheal intubation, umbilical and central line placement, PICC insertion, exchange transfusion, surfactant administration, functional echocardiography and neonatal cranial ultrasonography.
He has been heavily involved in teaching postgraduate students, academic programmes, research and neonatal training initiatives throughout his career.
Dr. Khan has several peer-reviewed national and international publications to his credit and has presented his research at prestigious scientific conferences including Pediatric Academic Societies (PAS) and National Neonatology Forum (NNF). His interests are neonatal respiratory support, nutrition of the very low birth weight infant, and improvement of neonatal intensive care unit outcomes.
