About Dr. Chinmayee Kar

Dr. Chinmayee Kar is a distinguished Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with expertise in advanced minimally invasive gynaecological surgery and the management of complex high-risk pregnancies. With 14 years of experience in tertiary care, she is known for combining surgical precision with compassionate, patient-centred care.

She completed her MBBS from SCB Medical College, Cuttack, joining in 2005, followed by MS in Obstetrics & Gynaecology from VSS Medical College, Burla, joining in 2012. She further honed her clinical and surgical skills during her Senior Residency at AIIMS, Bhubaneswar, one of India's premier medical institutions.

Prior to joining Ankura Hospital, Dr. Kar served as Senior Consultant, Obstetrics & Gynaecology at SUM Ultimate Medicare, Bhubaneswar (2020–2026), where she earned a reputation for successfully managing complex surgical cases and challenging obstetric emergencies.

Dr. Kar has extensive experience in managing complicated pregnancies, including hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, gestational diabetes, placenta previa, placenta accreta spectrum, recurrent pregnancy loss, multiple previous caesarean deliveries, preterm labour, and other high-risk maternal and fetal conditions. She believes in evidence-based practice and multidisciplinary care to achieve the safest outcomes for both mother and baby.

She has also successfully performed numerous advanced minimally invasive procedures for women with complex pelvic pathology, helping patients benefit from smaller incisions, reduced pain, faster recovery, and earlier return to normal life.
